We are proud to announce that our president and founder, Dr. Richard Wohns, JD, MBA, was recently named one of the top 101 Physician Leaders to Know by Becker’s ASC Review. Dr. Wohns established Microsurgical Spine Center and is being recognized as a leader in the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) sector.
Becker’s ASC Review, a leading source for healthcare professionals, included physicians from across the country on their 101 Physician Leaders to Know in the ASC Industry listing.
“Beyond providing care in the low-cost, high-quality environment of ASCs, physician leaders lead clinical and administrative teams, establish successful ASCs, stand up for the industry and found companies that support industry growth,” said the Becker’s ASC Review.
Physicians named to the list were chosen for making significant contributions to the ASC sector. Dr. Wohns is an expert in minimally invasive surgery done at outpatient ASC facilities. Recently, he performed the first-ever two-level disc replacement in the Northwest, and one of the first in the United States. He was also among the first American neurosurgeons qualified to perform the eXtreme Lateral Interbody Fusion (XLIF) minimally invasive lumbar fusion procedure. He is also committed to sharing and spreading knowledge, and is the founder of the Mazama Spine Summit, an annual meeting of top spine surgeons and technique innovators, now in its 10th year.
